WEEE Directive and Waste Batteries
1. WEEE
As a distributor of electrical and electrical equipment (EEE) F Phillips & Co complies with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive, as implemented in the UK.
Many electrical items can be repaired, refurbished, or recycled. To remind end-users that old electrical equipment can be recycled, it is now marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin symbol.
In the UK, distributors must provide a system which allows all customers buying new electrical equipment the opportunity to recycle their old items free of charge.
F Phillips is a distributor of business to consumer (B2C) dual use EEE, for which we have an obligation to provide free take back on a one for one, like for like basis only, when a customer purchases new equipment.
We do not accept any liability whatsoever for the buyer’s non-compliance with any legislation relating to WEEE.
2. Battery Recycling
As a distributor of portable batteries, F Phillips & Co complies with its obligations under the Battery Directive 2006 as implemented in the UK.
We offer a free take-back scheme for all portable waste batteries. End-users may return their waste batteries to our business premises in person. Waste batteries must not be sent by post.
We do not accept any liability whatsoever for the buyer’s non-compliance with any legislation relating to the Battery Directive.
